Değerli Mensuplarımız ve Öğrencilerimiz,

05.11.2022 tarihli Rektörlük duyurusunda, Üniversitemiz kafeterya yemeğinden kaynaklı öğrenci zehirlenmeleri yaşandığına ilişkin bazı sosyal medya paylaşımlarına istinaden, Üniversitemiz Sağlık ve Rehberlik Merkezi mikrobiyoloji uzmanları tarafından tespit edilen ilk bulgularda, gıda zehirlenmesi şeklinde ifade edilen durumun aslında viral enfeksiyon olduğu ifade edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerimizin rahatsızlanma sebeplerinin kafeteryada verilen yemek olmadığı değerlendirilmekle birlikte asıl nedenin tespit edilmesi için kafeteryada sunulan yemeklerden alınan tüm numunelerin teste gönderildiği belirtilmişti.

Anılan güne ait öğlen ve akşam yemeği menülerinden alınan numunelerin analizleri, Ankara Gıda Kontrol Laboratuvar Müdürlüğü'nde Tarım Bakanlığı tarafından yaptırılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda tüm numunelerin Türk Gıda Kodeksi Mikrobiyolojik Kriterler Yönetmeliğine uygun olduğu belirlenmiş; öğrencilerimizin rahatsızlanma sebebinin gıda zehirlenmesi olmadığı kesin olarak tespit edilmiştir.

Dear Members and Students,

In the previous announcement made by the President's Office on November 5, 2022, regarding several social media posts claiming that the food served at our university cafeteria caused student poisoning cases, it was stated that what was claimed to be food poisoning was in fact viral infection according to the initial findings of the microbiology experts at the METU Health and Counseling Center. In addition, it was also noted that although it was understood that the meal served at the cafeteria was not the reason why some students felt sick, all the samples taken from the meals served at the cafeteria were still sent to be analyzed in order to find out the reason.

The analyses of the samples taken from the lunch and dinner meals served at our university cafeteria on that day have been conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry at the Food Control Laboratory Directorate. As a result of the tests, it has been determined that all the samples were in compliance with the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Microbiological Criteria, and thus it has been confirmed that the reason for our students' sickness on the aforementioned date was not food poisoning.
